Hand Protection!

Over here at Cope Africa we have stated from time to time that our main focus is Safety. Not just any safety but safety that is of high calibre.

We believe that at one point in the universe Earthlings thought safety to be common sense but then they realized that it simply isn’t, if it was then we wouldn’t have safety training programs, safety trainers or safety legislations, we would simply just fall into the line of safety without thought or question, it would simply be one of mother nature’s best gift given to us. But we don’t and so we have to think of safety whenever we are about to do something that might or will leave us with a scar or two.

So safety should be at the heart of every human being in existence.

With that being said, we’d like to introduce you to our wide range of hand protection products, in other words, Safety Gloves.

First of all let’s talk about the hands, what do you know about your hands? What have you come to notice about them?
Apart from the internal organs and eyes the hands are pretty much one of the most used organs on the body, ever thought about it? From birth your hands have always been there moving in any direction because they can’t stay still.

“As babies, we use our hands to explore the world, first bringing new objects to the mouth and later developing hand-eye co-ordination to grasp what we want. When feeding, babies often claw or stroke whatever they can reach, whether their mother’s breast, a feeding bottle or clothing. Gradually, the child may fix this clutching motion on a particular rag or cuddly toy – the “transitional object”, in child development terms – and this transference to an object that is “neither her nor me” assists the emotional separation from the mother or primary carer.
So, Leader argues, as adults we feel impelled to keep restless fingers busy by tapping a mobile phone or fondling a string of worry beads.”- Darian Leader.

But away from that, let’s get back to what we really came here for.

Hand Protection!

Our innovative, high-performance hand protection products are designed to provide optimum protection for workers who are exposed to hazards such as: skin absorption of harmful substances, severe cuts or lacerations, severe abrasions, punctures, chemical burns, thermal burns and harmful temperature extremes that’s why we put a “Safety Always” tag on the hands of our customers because if the hands were to not exist on the human body work wouldn’t be done accordingly, i don’t think anything could be done.
Hands play a major role in our daily lives that’s why we have decided to offer you protection for the your hands.

Fire Fighting Equipment

What comes to your mind?
The vivid colour produced by the flame, the warmth it produces on a cold winter day, the pain it inflicts that gives you memories of your mother telling you to not play with fire when you were still a kid or maybe the smoke that comes off after the burning flame has seized?
I’m sure all of this comes to your mind.

Fire has been with for more than 200, 000 years and ever since then man has been trying to control it. Throughout the years, we had fire in our grasps and sometimes fire had us in it’s grasps.

Fire Fighting, as we all know, is an act of extinguishing fire. A fire-fighter suppresses and extinguishes the fire to save lives and prevent the destruction of property and of course the environment.

Fire fighting has been around since the Rule of Augustus in ancient Rome with the evidence of fire-fighting machinery in use in Ancient Egypt.
A quite rudimental start for fire fighting before the 17th Century both in Europe and the United States.

Fast forward to today, Fire-Fighting Equipment is a must in each and every building. Whether home, office or any public place you can think of.
You see, sometimes waiting for the Fire Brigade to come and bring down that fire is a time waster and as they say, “Money is Time“, so if you were supposed to be working on a project and then a fire broke out and you wanted to stop it but you couldn’t because you didn’t install any fire extinguishers or hydrants in your workplace you’d have to wait for the Fire Truck to come your way.

Oh, how much time(money) you’d have lost by then.

Don’t stress over it, there’s a lot of companies that sell Fire-Fighting Equipment, for instance Cope Africa.

Yes, we do sell the finest Fire-Fighting equipment out there.

Hard Hats & Protective Earmuffs

Hard Hats.

Of course we’ve all heard of hard hats they are what protect us from extreme damage of our skulls. The main purpose of the hard hat is head protection in the case where an individual is in an area where there is potential for injuries from falling objects. Apart from that, some hard hats are also designed to protect from electrical shock when one is working near exposed electrical conductors which may come into contact with the head.

Specialty types of hard hats include those Miners use with light attachments, reflective stripe for night work, face shields for welders and attachments for visors or earmuffs.

Use of Hard Hats

Hard hats should be used when falling object hazards may result from activities with proximity to:

  • Persons or operations where accidental dropping or loss of material, tools, equipment or other articles could lead to a head injury;
  • A barricaded or posted demolition or construction area where head hazards exist;
  • Objects stored on shelves, platforms, etc. that may fall and cause head injury; or
  • Overhead exposed energized conductors nearby.

Hard Hat Wear Factors and Limitations

Hard hat headbands and chin and nape straps should be adjusted to keep the hat comfortably on the head. Liners or sweat bands can be added for warmth or cooling. The shell or other parts of the hat should be replaced when they become damaged. Clean hats by dipping in hot water with detergent, scrub the shell and rinse in clear hot water. Cleaning solvents may damage the shell.

Hearing Protection.

Hearing protectors are required to prevent noise induced hearing loss. Hearing protection devices reduce the noise energy reaching the ear therefore preventing damage of the ear. Earmuffs and earplugs are the most common types of hearing protectors.

Hearing Protection Use

PPE for hearing protection is required for employees who are exposed to noise levels equal to or greater than 85 decibels averaged over an eight-hour period.

Combination of Both!

There must have been a time when man found himself in a position of potential head damage, eye or face damage and ear damage. I bet he couldn’t stand a single bit of it all. So like wise, as with all mankind, he sought to do something about this and thus was the births of the Hard Hats mounted with Earmuffs or Visors.

Hard Hats with Earmuffs

264-47102---FR-on-helmetIt’s a pretty single safety device just a hard hat with earmuffs, nothing fancy. A two in one combination offering you both ear and head protection so no need to trouble yourself with the possibility of noise distraction and falling objects.

Most hard hats mounted with earmuffs come with an adapter that allows you to change earmuffs if you do not like the ones purchased with the hard hat. So it is safe to say that it is customizable.

Hard Hats with Visors

FH1On a more complex side is the hard hat with the Visor and Earmuffs.

Triple Protection!

As you can see for yourself this safety gear offers an extra line of protection with the Visor. So if you’re in a position where bugs literally fly around and you don’t want any of them in your face then this is your answer to that problem.

Just like it’s predecessor, it comes with an adapter which allows you to not only change the Earmuffs but the Visor as well. So you can pick from either a Mesh Visor like the one in the photo above or the clear plastic visor. Once again, need i say, Customizable!
